Introduction
Mahjong Link, also known as Mahjong Connect, is a popular tile-matching puzzle game inspired by the traditional Chinese game of Mahjong. Unlike classic Mahjong, which is a multiplayer game played with physical tiles, Mahjong Link is typically a single-player digital game. The objective is to clear the board by connecting identical tiles with a path that has no more than two turns, all while racing against a timer or limited moves in some versions.
The game features tiles with various symbols, often drawn from traditional Mahjong sets (like bamboo, circles, characters, dragons, or seasons), though modern versions might use other themes like fruits, animals, or emojis. The challenge lies in finding matching pairs and ensuring the connecting path between them is unobstructed.
How to play
1. Understand the layout
- The game starts with a grid of tiles arranged in various patterns (e.g., a rectangle, pyramid, or scattered design).
- Each tile has a symbol or image, and your goal is to find matching pairs.
2. Find matching pairs
- Look for two tiles with the same symbol or image. For example, two tiles with a red dragon or two tiles with the number “3 bamboo.”
- Not all tiles are free to connect—some may be blocked by others.
3. Connection rules
- You can only connect two matching tiles if they can be linked by a line with no more than two turns (forming an L-shape, U-shape, or straight line).
- The path between the tiles must be clear, meaning no other tiles can block the line.
4. Make a move
- Click or tap on the first tile, then the second matching tile. If the connection is valid, the tiles disappear from the board.
5. Win the game
- The game is won when all tiles are cleared from the board by matching every pair.
- If you can’t find any valid moves and tiles remain, the game may end, requiring you to restart or use a shuffle feature (if available).
- If stuck, use hints to highlight a possible match or a shuffle option to rearrange the tiles.
- Use these wisely, as they’re often limited.
