Introduction
Doodle Jump is a simple yet addictive game originally developed by Lima Sky and released in 2009. It’s a classic “endless jumper” game where you guide a cute, four-legged character called “The Doodler” as it bounces upward on a series of platforms. The goal? Climb as high as possible while avoiding obstacles, enemies, and pitfalls.
The premise is minimalistic: The Doodler loves to jump, and your job is to keep it going up an infinite, randomly generated vertical world. Along the way, you’ll encounter helpful power-ups, tricky hazards, and a variety of themed environments (like space, jungle, or underwater) that keep the experience fresh.
How to play
Control
- Keyboard: Use the left and right arrow keys (or A and D keys in some versions).
- The Doodler jumps automatically when landing on a platform—no need to press a jump button.
Platforms
- Green platforms: Standard, stable platforms to jump on.
- Brown platforms: Breakable—jump on them once, and they crumble.
- White platforms: Disappear after one jump.
- Blue platforms: Move horizontally, adding a challenge.
- Watch out for gaps between platforms—falling off-screen ends the game!
Power-Ups
- Springs: Boost you higher when you land on them.
- Jetpacks: Propel you upward at high speed for a short time.
- Propeller Hats: Let you fly upward briefly.
- Rockets: Launch you into the sky for a big height boost.
- Collect these by jumping into them to gain an advantage.
Hazards
- Monsters: Avoid or shoot them (if you have a weapon power-up).
- Black holes: Suck you in and end your game if you get too close.
- UFOs: Similar to monsters—dodge or shoot them.
- Falling too far or missing platforms will also end your run.
Shooting
- If you grab a weapon power-up (like a nose-shooting ability), click the mouse or press a key to fire at enemies.
