Introduction
Tetris is a classic puzzle video game originally designed and programmed by Soviet software engineer Alexey Pajitnov in 1984. It has since become one of the most iconic and widely recognized video games in history, available on virtually every gaming platform. The name “Tetris” is derived from the Greek word “tetra,” meaning four (as all game pieces consist of four squares), combined with “tennis,” Pajitnov’s favorite sport.
In Super Tetris, players manipulate falling geometric shapes called “Tetriminos” to fit them together and clear lines on a grid. The game is simple yet endlessly engaging, requiring quick thinking, spatial awareness, and strategy. Its timeless appeal lies in its straightforward mechanics and increasing difficulty as the speed of the falling pieces accelerates.

Move Left/Right: Shift the falling Tetrimino horizontally to position it.
- Up arrow/ X: Rotate clockwise
- Z: Rotate counter clockwise
- Down arrow: Down block
- Spacebar: Drop and lock
- Ctrl key: Swap block
Tetriminos
There are seven unique Tetriminos, each made up of four squares (hence “tetra”). They are:
- I-Tetrimino (straight line)
- O-Tetrimino (square)
- T-Tetrimino (T-shape)
- S-Tetrimino (zigzag)
- Z-Tetrimino (reverse zigzag)
- J-Tetrimino (L-shape, mirrored)
- L-Tetrimino (L-shape)
