Introduction
Takeover is a real-time strategy (RTS) game set in a medieval fantasy world, where players take command of armies to reclaim a once-glorious empire now fallen into chaos. For centuries, the Rivadis Empire ruled the continent in peace and prosperity, but it has since been overtaken by necromancers and their undead forces. Your mission is to lead one of three unique nations—or in some versions, face the additional challenge of the necromancer faction—to liberate the land, one territory at a time.
In Takeover, you’ll build strongholds, command diverse squads, cast spells, and strategically expand your territory by seizing enemy buildings. Each nation comes with its own strengths, unit types, and powerful abilities, making every campaign a new challenge.
How to play
Choose Your Nation
At the start Takeover RTS, you’ll select one of three playable nations. Each nation has:
- 5 unique squad types: Ranging from basic infantry to specialized units like archers or mages.
- 3 stronghold types: Buildings that produce units and can be upgraded for better troops.
- Magic spells: Including 3 regular spells and a powerful “Grand Spell” unique to each faction.
Understand the Basics
- Objective: Protect your strongholds while capturing enemy buildings to win each level. You’ll face rival factions or undead hordes depending on the campaign.
- Gameplay: Played in real time using mouse controls (or touch on mobile), you’ll manage resources, deploy squads, and cast spells—all while the enemy advances.
Manage Resources
Build resource-generating structures near your castle:
- Gold Mines: Generate gold to fund troop recruitment and upgrades.
- Farms: Increase your squad capacity, allowing you to field more units.
- Obelisks: Boost mana production for casting spells.
Resources are critical—without gold, you can’t hire troops; without mana, your spells are useless.
Build and Command Your Army
- Strongholds: Start with a castle or base that produces basic units. Upgrade it to unlock stronger troops.
- Squads: Click a stronghold, then select a squad type to recruit. Each unit has strengths and weaknesses (e.g., melee units vs. ranged attackers).
- Deployment: Click a squad and then a destination—enemy buildings, defensive positions, or resource points—to send them into action. Squads automatically fight enemies they encounter.
Capture Enemy Territory
To win, seize enemy strongholds:
- Send squads to attack enemy buildings. Once their health depletes, the building becomes neutral.
- Move your troops into a neutral building to claim it for your faction, turning it into a production point for your army.
Be strategic—overextending can leave your base vulnerable.
