Introduction
Uno is a classic card game that has been enjoyed by people worldwide for decades. Originally created in 1971 by Merle Robbins, Uno is a fast-paced, fun, and easy-to-learn game that involves strategy, luck, and a bit of competitive spirit. The online version of Uno brings this beloved game to digital platforms, allowing players to enjoy it with friends or strangers from anywhere in the world. Uno online retains the core rules of the physical card game while adding convenience and features like multiplayer modes, customizable settings, and sometimes even new twists depending on the platform.
The objective of Uno is simple: be the first player to get rid of all your cards by matching them with the card on top of the discard pile, either by number, color, or symbol. Special action cards add excitement and unpredictability, making every game a unique experience.
How to play
Gameplay
- Play proceeds clockwise (or as determined by the platform).
- On your turn, you must match the top card of the discard pile by:
- Number: Play a card with the same number (e.g., a red 5 on a yellow 5).
- Color: Play a card of the same color (e.g., a blue 7 on a blue 2).
- Symbol: Play an action or wild card (see below).
- If you can’t play a card, draw one from the draw pile. You can then either play that card (if it matches) or pass your turn.
Special Cards
- Skip: The next player is skipped and loses their turn.
- Reverse: Changes the direction of play (e.g., from clockwise to counterclockwise).
- Draw Two: The next player must draw two cards and skip their turn.
- Wild: Allows you to choose any color to continue the game.
- Wild Draw Four: Lets you choose a color and forces the next player to draw four cards and skip their turn. (Note: Some versions require you to only play this if you have no other playable cards.)
