Introduction
Daily Solitaire is a popular online version of the classic card game Solitaire (also known as Klondike), designed to offer players a fresh challenge every day. It’s a single-player game where the objective is to arrange a standard deck of 52 cards into a specific order by suit and rank.
The “daily” aspect typically means that the game provides a unique, pre-set layout each day, allowing players worldwide to tackle the same puzzle and sometimes compare scores or completion times. It’s a great way to test your strategy, patience, and problem-solving skills, all while enjoying a relaxing yet engaging pastime.
How to play
- Tableau moves: You can move face-up cards between columns in descending order (e.g., 10 on Jack) and alternating colors (e.g., red 10 on black Jack). You can move a single card or a sequence of cards that follow this rule.
- Turning cards: If a face-down card is uncovered in the tableau, flip it face-up.
- Stockpile: Draw cards from the stockpile (usually one or three at a time, depending on the version). Place usable cards onto the tableau or foundation, and move unused cards to a waste pile. You can cycle through the stockpile multiple times in most online versions.
- Empty columns: If a tableau column becomes empty, you can only fill it with a King or a sequence starting with a King.
- Foundation: Move cards to the foundation piles when possible, starting with Aces and building up by suit.
