Drift Cup Racing is an exciting, fast-paced arcade-style racing game that focuses on the art of drifting. The game challenges players to master drifting techniques on diverse tracks made of asphalt, snow, dust, or tarmac. Players compete against AI-controlled opponents or aim to beat their own scores, sliding through sharp corners to earn coins, unlock new cars, and upgrade vehicles.
How to play
Controls
- Steering: Use the Left and Right Arrow keys on a keyboard, A and D keys, or tap/swipe left and right on mobile devices to steer your car. The car accelerates automatically, and there are no brakes, so focus solely on steering.
- Desktop: Use a mouse to click UI elements or steer by moving the mouse smoothly.
- Mobile: Tap the screen to interact with buttons or steer by dragging your finger.
Gameplay
- Drifting: To drift, steer into corners smoothly to slide your car around turns. Aim to drift close to the corner’s apex for maximum speed and efficiency. Long, stylish drifts may look cool but can slow you down, so prioritize effective, quick drifts.
- Speed boosts: Hit colorful arrow-shaped speed boost zones on the track to gain a temporary acceleration burst. Be cautious to avoid crashing after a boost.
- Obstacles: Avoid hazards like oil slicks, ice patches, standing water, and red-and-white striped bumpers, as they slow you down or reduce control.
- Racing: Compete against 5 AI opponents in 2D circuits. Each collision with scenery or rivals slows you significantly, so precise driving is key.
- Laps and completion: Complete all required laps to finish a race. Even if you’re in last place, you must finish the race to earn coins, unless you pause and exit (but exiting without completing laps forfeits coins).
Progression and upgrades
- Coins: Earn coins by winning races, performing clean drifts, or collecting them on the track. Use coins to upgrade your car’s engine, tires, gears, or steering for better performance.
- Cars: Start with a base model and unlock up to 6 unique drift cars, each with distinct handling characteristics, by winning races.
- Tracks: Win races to unlock new tracks set in varied environments like summer, autumn, winter, or spring
