Introduction
Battalion Commander 1917 is an action-packed, top-down shooting game set during the chaotic battlefields of World War I. This game puts you in the boots of a brave soldier tasked with a seemingly impossible mission: to infiltrate enemy territory, locate a massive enemy war machine, and destroy it to save 1,600 of your comrades.
The game blends fast-paced arcade-style gameplay with strategic elements, as you free captured allied soldiers to join your squad, collect gold for upgrades, and face relentless waves of enemies, including soldiers, tanks, bombers, and more.
How to play
Controls
- Movement: Move your mouse cursor (or finger on touch devices) to guide your soldier across the battlefield. Your character automatically advances upward and follows your cursor horizontally.
- Shooting: Your soldier fires automatically in a straight line ahead. Position yourself to aim at enemies and obstacles.
- Skills: Click the skill button (usually displayed on-screen) to activate special abilities when available. These recharge over time or with specific conditions.
Enemies and challenges
- You’ll face a variety of foes, including infantry, snipers, guard towers, tanks, and even Tesla towers or bombers. Each requires quick reflexes to evade or destroy.
- Barrels and destructible objects can be shot to trigger explosions, taking out nearby enemies.
Upgrades and progression
- After each run, use collected gold in the in-game shop to buy upgrades like faster movement, better weapons, or the heavy tank for extra durability and power.
- Completing achievements (e.g., traveling a certain distance or killing a set number of enemies) can also unlock rewards and boost your rank, granting access to more upgrades.
