Introduction
Awesome Tanks 2 is an action-packed, top-down tank shooter game that puts you in command of a powerful armored vehicle. Developed as a sequel to the original Awesome Tanks, this game ramps up the excitement with new levels, enhanced visuals, and a wider variety of weapons and upgrades.
Your mission is blast through enemy tanks, collect coins, and upgrade your tank to become an unstoppable force on the battlefield. With 15 unique levels filled with increasingly challenging enemies and obstacles. The game retains the core concept of its predecessor but introduces fresh maps, new weapons like flamethrowers and mines, and improved upgrade options.
How to play
Controls
- Movement: Use the W.A.S.D keys or arrow keys to move your tank around the battlefield. W or Up moves forward, S or Down moves backward, and A/D or Left/Right turn your tank.
- Aiming and Shooting: Move your mouse to aim your tank’s turret, and click the left mouse button to fire your weapon.
- Switch weapons: Press Q/E, the spacebar, or number keys [1-9] to cycle through your available weapons once unlocked.
- Lay mines: Press Shift to drop mines (if equipped) to set traps for enemies.
Gameplay
- Navigate the battlefield: Use your movement keys to explore the map, reveal hidden areas, and position yourself strategically. The top-down view gives you a clear perspective of the action.
- Engage enemies: Aim and shoot at enemy tanks, turrets, and bases. Collect the coins they drop when destroyed—these are key to your success.
- Upgrade your tank: Between levels, use your collected coins to purchase upgrades in two categories:
- Performance: Boost armor (durability), movement speed, turret speed, or visibility to improve your tank’s capabilities.
- Weapons: Unlock and equip new weapons like lasers, rockets, flamethrowers, or railguns, each with unique strengths. Switch between them during battle to adapt to different situations.
- Progress through levels: Complete all 15 levels by clearing out enemies and surviving increasingly difficult challenges, including boss-like super-tanks.
