Introduction
Vex 8 is the latest installment in the popular Vex series, a thrilling platformer that tests your dexterity, speed, and problem-solving skills. In this game, you control a stickman character navigating through a series of challenging obstacle courses filled with deadly traps, spikes, and moving hazards.
As the eighth chapter in the franchise, Vex 8 builds on its predecessors with refined controls, smoother animations, and new mechanics like the red-green light traps, adding fresh layers of complexity to the gameplay. The game features nine distinct acts, secret areas to explore for trophies, and an exciting new infinite mode that challenges you to see how far you can go without failing.
How to play
Controls
PC:
- Move Left/Right: Use the A and D keys or the Left and Right Arrow keys.
- Jump: Press the W key or the Up Arrow key.
- Slide/Crouch: Press the S key or the Down Arrow key (useful for sliding under obstacles or activating certain platforms).
Mobile:
- Use the on-screen directional arrows to move left or right.
- Tap the jump button to leap, and the slide button to crouch or slide.
- The game will guide you with prompts if additional controls are needed.
Gameplay
- Objective: Guide your stickman to the green portal at the end of each level. Along the way, avoid traps like spikes, spinning blades, and the new red-green light traps (which require precise timing to pass when the light is green).
- Levels: The game consists of nine acts, each with increasingly difficult obstacle courses. You’ll also encounter checkpoints (marked by flags) that let you respawn from the last one you touched if you die.
- Mechanics:
- Jumping: Use jumps to clear gaps or climb walls by jumping between them.
- Sliding: Slide under low obstacles or to gain momentum.
- Red-Green light traps: Wait for the green light to pass safely; moving during the red light will result in instant death.
- Infinite mode: Test your endurance in this mode, where the obstacle course continues endlessly. Your goal is to survive as long as possible and set a personal best.
- Secret areas: Look for hidden paths or hard-to-reach spots in levels to collect trophies, adding an extra challenge and reward.
