Introduction
A Keys Path gained recognition as one of the winners of the GMTK Game Jam 2020, which had the theme “Out of Control.” This highlights the game’s innovative and well-executed design.
The game revolves around the clever idea of using your movement keys (left, right, and jump) as physical platforms within the game world. This creates a dynamic puzzle experience where you must strategically place and retrieve these “keys” to navigate each level.
How to play
Control
- Move left by pressing the A key or the Left arrow key.
- Move right by pressing the D key or the Right arrow key.
- Jump by pressing the W key, the Up arrow key, or the spacebar.
Movement Keys as Platforms
- You have access to your basic movement keys (left, right, and jump) at the bottom of the screen.
- You can drag these keys into the game world to use them as platforms.
- However, once a key is placed, it becomes unavailable for its original movement function until you retrieve it.
Retrieving Keys
- You can retrieve a placed key by clicking on it within the game world or by clicking on the empty slot in the bottom bar.
- There is also often a function to retrieve all keys at once.
