How to play Treasures of The Mystic Sea
Objective
- Each level has a specific goal, such as clearing all the wooden (gold or brown) background tiles, bringing treasures to the bottom of the screen, or unlocking shackles and locks. You must complete these objectives before the timer runs out (indicated by a blue gauge on the left side of the screen).
Controls
- Use your mouse (or touchpad on mobile devices) to click and drag tiles to swap them.
- A swap is only valid if it results in a match of 3 or more identical items; otherwise, the tiles return to their original positions.
Gameplay
- The game board consists of hexagonal tiles filled with pirate-themed items like treasure chests, rum bottles, compasses, and skulls.
- Swap two adjacent tiles to create a horizontal or diagonal line of 3 or more identical items. Vertical matches are not possible due to the hexagonal layout.
- Matching tiles removes them from the board, and new tiles cascade down to fill the empty spaces.
Special tiles and challenges
- Boxes: Match 3 or more items next to a box to break it, allowing items to fall through.
- Shackles: Include the shackled tile in a match to release it.
- Keys & Locks: Collect keys by matching them in a group, then use them to unlock matching-colored locks.
- Treasures: Clear tiles beneath treasures to drop them to the bottom of the board.
- Gold/Brown Tiles: These must be cleared by making matches on top of them—some may require multiple matches.
Power-Ups
- Matching tiles with a twinkling glow charges power-ups displayed on the left side of the screen. The more matches you make, the stronger the power-up becomes.
- Available power-ups include:
- Chaos: Swaps random tiles on the board (e.g., 5, 7, or 10 pairs).
- Tornado: Removes random tiles (e.g., 6, 10, or 15 tiles).
- Additional power-ups like dynamite or fuses may clear larger areas or specific tiles.
- Click a charged power-up to activate it when you’re stuck or need a boost.
